Vintage Lou Walters’s Latin Quarter Program for Sophie TuckerThe Latin Quarter is a legendary New York City club that has taken many forms over the decades. In 1942, theatrical producer Lou Walters father of Barbara Walters bought it and gave it a New Orleans Latin Quarter theme. He gave the club up in 1950. The star this particular program advertises is Sophie Tucker, also a New York legend, who had been performing since the 1910s & is revered for her ribald humor, powerful pipes, & incorporation of Yiddish
